Korg Digital Pianos Compared: B2+, D1 and LP-380

Three very different pianos at three very different weights. The right one depends on where it's going to live.

Korg's B2+, D1 and LP-380 all use 88 weighted keys and 120-note polyphony, but that's where the similarity ends. These are three genuinely different instruments built for three different situations: a portable practice piano, a stage piano with no built-in speakers, and a furniture-style home piano with an integrated stand. Here's exactly what separates them.

Choose the B2+ if...

  • You want the lightest, most portable option
  • You're buying a first piano for home practice on a budget
  • You want speakers built in, ready to play out of the box

Choose the D1 if...

  • You want the more authentic RH3 touch over the B2+'s NH action
  • You're playing through an amp, PA, or headphones rather than built-in speakers
  • You want more sound variety (30 vs 12) in a still-portable piano

Choose the LP-380 if...

  • You want a permanent piece of furniture, not something you'll move around
  • You want all 3 pedals with proper half-pedal support, not just a damper jack
  • You want the most powerful built-in speakers of the three

Our honest recommendation

Think of these as three different categories, not three tiers of the same thing. The B2+ is a lightweight starter piano. The D1 trades built-in speakers for a better key action and more sounds, in a similar portable size — it's built for the stage, not the living room. The LP-380 is the only one of the three built to look and function like a real piece of home furniture, with the stand and all three pedals included.
