The solid Ash body delivers a naturally bright tonal character with rich sustain, bringing a livelier and more open quality to the RG platform compared to traditional mahogany or basswood alternatives. The bolt-on Super Wizard HP five-piece Maple/Walnut neck is one of Ibanez's finest neck profiles — ultra-thin, extra-smooth, and built for unlimited playability — reinforced with Prestige fret edge treatment across 24 Jumbo frets that guarantees effortlessly fast and comfortable playing at every position. The Macassar Ebony fretboard adds tight lows, a focused midrange, strong high-end attack, and rich sustain for a fretboard experience that is both tonally superior and physically refined.
Dual DiMarzio® Fusion Edge humbuckers sit at neck and bridge positions, engineered through close Ibanez and DiMarzio® collaboration to deliver a powerful, distinctive tone with a crisp cutting high end and tight compressed bottom end — a purposeful match for the natural brightness of the Ash body. The legendary Edge locking tremolo system provides expressive and stable tremolo performance trusted by demanding players worldwide, while Gotoh SG381 machine heads deliver superior tuning precision and a smooth, reliable feel. Black hardware throughout gives this weathered black prestige guitar a sharp, focused visual presence that perfectly frames the understated sophistication of the Weathered Black finish.
